Dr. Esprit is board certified in Internal Medicine and Clinical Nephrology. In 2003, he received his medical degree from the Higher Institute of Medical Sciences in Villa Clara, Cuba. Dr. Esprit completed his internship at Princess Margaret Hospital in Dominica Island, his country of birth. In 2015, he completed his Internal Medicine Residency at North Shore Medical Center in Salem, Massachusetts then moved to Gainesville, Florida where he completed his Nephrology Fellowship at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in 2017.
Dr. Esprit is an expert in the management of hypertension, chronic and acute kidney disease, end stage renal disease, and all modalities of dialysis and transplantation. He has special interest in sickle cell nephropathy and is currently a member of the American Society of Nephrology. Dr. Esprit is fluent in Spanish and French Creole.
Dr. Esprit strives to be professional, thorough and compassionate in all of his relationships and in all of his work. He lives with his wife and three daughters in Gainesville, Florida and enjoys playing basketball, hiking and travelling.
